Three years ago, the Foundation launched the ‘Parents’ Break’ project for the first time, running it in parallel with the ‘Children’s Camps’. To this end, the Foundation books a suitable holiday venue for five days so that as many foster parents as possible from our children’s homes can take advantage of this offer. Even when the project was first run, it became clear just how valuable and necessary this break is for foster parents.
For a few days, they can leave their often challenging daily lives behind and consciously enjoy time as a couple. In the day-to-day life of a foster family in particular, time together, relaxation and time for their own relationship are often neglected.
The ‘Parents’ Retreat’ gives foster parents the opportunity to unwind and recharge their batteries. For many of them, this break is one of the few opportunities to focus entirely on themselves and their relationship.
The positive feedback shows us just how much these five days mean to foster parents. That is why we want to continue supporting this important project, thereby giving them time for each other, to take a breather and recharge their batteries.
