Hrazdan is the fifth largest city in Armenia, with about 40,000 inhabitants. It is located between the capital, Yerewan, and Lake Sevan, the largest lake in Armenia. The ruins of an 11th-century chapel, a Mother God Church from the 13th century, and much more make this city attractive for tourists. It is known for its rich cultural history as well as its once-thriving industry.
The Evangelical Free Church in Hrazdan has been bringing great joy and unforgettable experiences in youth and children's work for many years. After the completion of the evangelical community center, the foundation built a recreational center nearby. There was already a building on this site where three foster families live. A foster family can accommodate up to 12 orphans. The foster children participate in this valuable leisure time with joy and gratitude.
The recreational center has sleeping accommodations for about 100 people. Sanitary facilities, seminar rooms, group rooms, a large kitchen, and a dining hall complete this concept. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to conduct retreats, conferences, training sessions, and seminars in this center. The catering is also well taken care of. Children's retreats are particularly popular, as the children can forget their daily routines. They are offered exciting and varied activities, including sports and games, workshops, and Bible studies. There is no shortage of activities, and the free time is gladly utilized. Adults also enjoy pleasant walks, outings, and evening conversations around the campfire. For all of them, such a retreat serves as preparation and relaxation in a beautiful place with good company.
People of all ages from the entire region make use of this facility and enjoy returning here again and again.
