Children's Home II in Gradisjk

It is about 90 miles from the city of Gradisjk to the regional capital and only 20 miles to Krementschuk. At the shore of the Krementschuk artificial lake there are people who do not want to just sit and watch while orphans are suffering amongst them. The local evangelical church encouraged her members to provide foster care for these disadvantaged children. Soon they realized that they did not have enough living space to accommodate the needs of the children. With the opening of the Children’s Home I, and soon after the Children’s Home II, 24 more children have the opportunity to live in a home with loving parents.

To lower the maintenance costs, the foundation furnished the house with a second furnace that can be fired with wood, since firewood is cheap to come by in that area. A mini-farm provides additional help as it complements the family’s food pantry, and also serves as an opportunity for the children to learn responsibility to be better prepared for a successful and independent life. It is planned to farm strawberries here and the children are already eagerly awaiting the seedtime.
