Children's Home in Taraclia de Salcie

Taraclia de Salcie, a village of 1,500 inhabitants, is located in the Cahul area, about 80 miles south of the capital Chisinau.

In the midst of untouched nature and old tiny houses we build upon request, a Children’s Home, where up to 12 orphans can find a home.
It was quite the occasion for the entire village. In a time when many villagers find work in far away countries (mainly Western Europe), because unemployment is so high at home, a couple wanted to provide a family home for orphaned children. In light of the economical situation this is a daring decision.

On September 19, 2018 the day had finally come. Many visitors from government agencies but also from the neighbourhood gathered for the opening ceremony.

The leader of the local child protective services remarked in his speech, „We are willing to cooperate with this wonderful project to offer a future to these children - to enable a blooming and successful future and to give them a life worth living.“

A big and light-filled house within all the bleakness will shine hope into this village. The orphans, who now have a caring family, again find joy in their lives. Now they are taking care of, surrounded by love and being prepared for their future.
